For Dan’s CFFC: Things Made of Metal…

Bronze sculpture ‘Boy and Dog’ (By sculptor John Robinson).  John Kane Park, Edmonton, Alberta.

And so…upon entering the park to snap the above sculpture, I was met by one of the park’s volunteer ‘greeters’ (aka a real squirrel.)

      1. Someone here said it feels like the sculptor was just playing with mud; and I love that thought.
There’s something so soft and tender in the texture, cast in bronze. It captures the feeling perfectly — two gentle souls, best friends.

And the squirrels — they’re called Greeters! There’s definitely a good story behind that name. I’d love to hear it someday. Very cute, awakening from winter’s hibernation.

      2. Yes, I totally agree there is a tenderness to the sculpture that lingers.
Lol…not much to the story about the term greeter. It is just my own personal affectionate name for squirrels. They seem to seek me out when I travel about in parks…lol.

      3. I’m no good at photography but I love taking photos. I haven’t done it in a while. It’s so different here.
Lol, well are quite funny characters with their tiny faces and bush tails.

      4. You brought us some interesting photos the past couple of weeks.
It’s so nice to be able to walk around the city and take some pics. I use to enjoy it so much.

That’s so true about the greeters. Always scurrying around the place. The real park hunters and gatherers.

      5. Taking photos is more that the photos you are right, it is the journey to find something or a scene or a moment. Sometimes one does not need a camera for that.
A blessed day/evening to you. Peace.
