  1. I really enjoyed the light touch of humor in the introduction to this dodoitsu. When we hear “mosaics,” our minds often leap to glass or tile—but here, it’s wood and stone bearing the patina of time. The poet handles this so skillfully, letting age and texture speak just as clearly as color and shine. And that “century-old side-door” quietly upholding the past’s cross—what a beautiful image. It truly made me smile. It takes all kinds of doors to carry the weight of memory.

    1. Brilliant insight “It takes all kinds of doors to carry the weight of memory.” Volumes could be written from your great point, I feel.

Glad you enjoyed and noticed the soft bit of humor in the word choices for the effects of time on the facade and door both still in great and fine functional shape.

  2. That’s excellent, Suzette. The imagery describes the door so beautifully, and makes me think beyond today, and into the history. This is another new form to me, but I like it a lot.
