  1. That’s a beautiful and unusual bridge, Suzette. It looks like a cross between a cable stayed and a suspension bridge but I like the look a lot. I also like seeing the geese.

    1. Thanks Dan. Well spotted! You know your bridges; it is a cross between those two types of constructions. As bridges go it is relatively news (2017).

Have a wonderful day. Blessings to you!

P.S. There used to be a ferry operating on this spot, back in the 1880s. But not today.

      1. The Bissell Bridge over the Connecticut River (one town south of us) was built at the crossing points of the Bissell Ferry back in the 19th century. I really like this one you featured.

      2. There was a fair bit of bridge building at that time as the cities grew, the ferry was not sufficient transportation for people and goods. I would guess. So glad you like this one. Cheers, Dan.

  2. I thought you did a stunning shot of this unusual bridge; a perfect one to match the themes, bridges and ferries.
The bridge at the Tsitsikamma National Park in my country is also a suspension bridge. Specifically, it spans the mouth of the Storms River and is a popular tourist attraction. The main 77-meter-long bridge was built in 1969.
Awesome!! The Canadian Geese look so relaxed in your presence.

    1. Thank you for the introduction to suspension bridge in Tsitsikamma. I looked up photos of it pretty amazing as it spans so large a river as the Storms River that flows into the Ocean. Nature in your homeland is so powerful and gentle in its ageless dialog with the forces that support all life (water, rivers, mountains, oceans and sky).

The Canada geese…thank you are most kind to note their calm vibes. P.S they are pretty comfortable around humans not to mention they are a protected species.

      1. Oh lovely Poet. The Tsitsikamma Bridge is the only one I could think of after looking at your photo. A wonderful place to visit, although I havent been there in many many years. We have an exquisite landscape with so many beautiful spots. I hope my country looks after their assets. We have everything as you mentioned.
        Thank you for indulging me.
I’m sure the geese can feel the love.
