For Dan’s CFFC – Highways and Structures

The #5 Bus in the distance, on 124 Street formerly Highway 16A.

The above photo shows a present-day view of a street that was once a highway (16A).

Back in the day (circa 1914), Highway 16 and 16A connected the areas west of Edmonton to the downtown Edmonton core. In the 1950s, Highway 16A was changed to a street (124 St) but remains today a major corridor into downtown Edmonton.

For Dan’s Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (#CFFC)- Transportation: *Highways and Structures. *My interpretation of this week’s theme is a bit loose. Hopefully this post (somewhat) meets the brief, Dan. Apologies.

  1. I can hardly see the bus cruising along a once upon a time, very busy highway.
Amazing transformation still standing as a major corridor. I love the stillness.

      1. I’m not complaining at all. It feels like a steady unrushed bus ride.
I really enjoy looking at old photos too.
        Thank you, Poet.
And a happy Tuesday to you too.

      2. Oh no worries, I am the biggest “critic’ of my still fledgling photo snapping hobby. So its all good. I delight in sharing what photos I can scrape together…lol.
Thanks you for the kind regards and support.

      3. You are most welcome. And you are doing a fine job with your photography. I was so impressed how you captured the calm atmosphere on a busy highway
