  2. This is a classy-looking dump truck.
    Ours, by contrast, make so much noise you can hear them from a mile away—often accompanied by human whistles alerting the neighborhood that it’s time to bring out the garbage. They’re all painted the same egg-yellow and frequently block side streets, holding up morning traffic. For the kids on their way to school, it’s a bit of fun. For the adults rushing to drop them off and get to work, it’s a daily nightmare. I still don’t know why we stuck with that yellow for all our trucks.

    1. These trucks have of three colors here: white, blue or green
      Yellow you are right is quite noticeable. And we have the same problem with blocking laneways. The laneways for garbage collection are pretty narrow…much narrower than the streets.

      1. Yellow does stand out and we’ve kept that colour for decades.
        We also have quite narrow sidestreets that makes it very difficult to overtake the trucks.
        Anyway we need them, so we hot-headedly keep our cool till we get a gap to pass them.
