  1. Interesting architectural style. The building looks like a row of shipping containers linked together—maybe it’s just the angle of the photo. I’ve never heard of this name of the grocery store before.

    1. You are spot on. I think the idea was to give the “big box” look to their stores. Sorry about the angle, I was trying to avoid including cars in the parking lot, which is close by.
      This is in Canada food retailer, however; t its former parent company, Associated British Foods, has subsidiaries, one of which is Illovo Sugar Ltd.

      1. Oh wow, I think Illovo is a south african subsidiary.
        So interesting how over the years these companies amalgamate or breakaway to form new outlets.
        I’ve not seen this big box concept before, recycling old containers. Great idea.

      2. The big box is just a look-alike container. My apologies, I was unclear in my earlier missive. They are solid brick and mortar buildings in that “style”, if you will.

        Yes, it is amazing the connection with the companies involved with food around the world in particular.
