Chapter 5

The woman that Isabella had chased from the church to the Trindade train station a few hours ago, was no woman, nor man for that matter. Iilka was the Hoodoi (shaman shadow walker) that the Nephilim Zox hired from the extinct Pookuhaw tribe in the depths of the Amazon rain forest.

Iilka was an expert thief, a shadow walker traveling through time for three hundred years peddling his services to the underworld, the real underworld— spiritual wickedness roaming in the heavenly realms.

Give Iilka an address and the shaman shadow walker could incant himself to that location and blend into the background. Therefore it was with ease that Iilka wormed his way into the Church at Isabella’s late grandmother’s funeral. He then lifted the onyx Templar stone in plain sight of everyone present at the matriarch’s crowded funeral.

However, Iilka did not count on the fact that Isabella could “see” through the incantations the shaman shadow walker had used to hide in the pew among the mourners.

Therefore, Iilka panicked and ran.

Moreover, to his dismay, Isabella had given chase despite his efforts to change his appearance. Iilka then “jumped” onto the Trindade tracks, and shadow-walked his way to London’s Eurail train station terminal.

*****

Despite his client’s (Zox) strict instructions not to open the small box containing the onyx Templar stone, Iilka’s curiosity got the better of him.

“I will just take a brief look at this beautiful gem before Zox arrives,” said Ilka to himself as he crossed the busy London street from the Eurail Train Terminal over to King’s Cross Tube Station, where he planned to meet up with the Nephalim.

Mumbling protection chants Iilka “walked” through cars, trucks, and walls unseen. He “landed” in the maintenance tunnel of King Cross London Station and slipped through a locked boiler room door.

While he waited, Iilka finally succumbed to the strangely intense curiosity that had, by now, become all-consuming.

He took the small 10-centimeter square box in the gold velvet drawstring sac from his pant pocket. Then, with delicious excitement in his three-hundred-year-old eyes, he began to open the lid of the small box containing the onyx Templar stone he had stolen.

Iilka chuckled as he caressed the box sensually whispering to himself; “Now I know how Pandora felt.”

So enwrapped in the sudden gold light pouring from the opening lid, Iilka did not see the inscription: “There are some standing here who shall not taste death” on the back of the onyx Templar stone, materializing in ancient Aramaic gold lettering on the wall behind him.

Nor, did Iilka see the two-meter tall being that suddenly appeared out of the forming letters on the wall. The being carried a massive three-sided sword in hand ready to strike. Curiously, the sword was made from the same material as the onyx Templar stone.

Iilka was cut down where he stood in the darkness of London’s King’s Cross station train track maintenance tunnel boiler room under the Gent’s washroom.

The three-hundred-year-old shadow walker shaman gulped, choking on his own lifeblood gushing up his esophagus from his internal organs bleeding out. As Iilka’s last breath left his lungs he stared into the face of the strange two-meter-tall being sheathing the massive sword.

The tiny box fell silently to the boiler room floor as Iilka’s lifeless body suddenly disintegrated into dust. Then, the being entered the small box that housed the onyx Templar stone and carefully closed it shut.

Meanwhile… directly above on the platform of London’s King Cross Tube Station…

As Isabella exited the Gents’ washroom joining the throng of travelers at King’s Cross Tube main platform, a vision only she could see, opened before her.

In the vision, Isabella saw herself in another lifetime eons ago. She saw herself as she once was—as an angel of the Second Circle of heaven’s court ordained to wield the onyx Templar stone in its primordial form as the physical manifestation of— Death.

Isabella knew immediately what to do. Without hesitation, she jumped into the vision arriving in haste inside the boiler room under the platform at King’s Cross London Tube Station…

Meanwhile…

The Nephalim Zox along with his soul assassin entourage, twelve strong, appeared suddenly…

Looking like extras from a “Men In Black” movie, the group stepped down, it seemed, from a flight of invisible stairs through reality’s veil via the 85-inch (2m) wide monitor screen hanging from the train station platform’s ceiling, directly above where Isabella had stood moments earlier…
