“Now where did I put my new hat?” sighed Kayla rummaging through the bushes around her feet. “Mother will be rather cross if I come home without it. I must get home, it will be dark soon.”
Desperate, Kayla fretted for a moment, and then an idea came to mind.
“Maybe,” thought Kayla to herself, “I should pray. Mom said, ‘when you need something—ask God.'”
And so Kalya prayed, “Dear God, I know you are up there and very busy because you are holding up the moon and the crows so that they don’t fall from the sky. But, if you have a spare minute, can you show me where my hat is, please?”
There was no answer.
Then, suddenly the crows began cawing and spiraling below the moon. Curious at the crows’ sudden and strange behavior, Kayla ran to see the spectacle. There, in the tall bushes, directly beneath the crows lay her new hat.
Kayla, raised her hand in praise, thanking the moon, the crows, and God. Then, she rushed home clutching her new hat.

Oh when they can’t find their things.
Precisely what happened between my little one and me yesterday evening…and then begins the journey of tracing back your steps.
The lost hat, lovely Kayla grooming.

A lovely tale beautifully penned. Another one for the book ‘Tales that Children Tell’ . Ah, now that is definitely a line for a haiku. I must make note of it.
