“And when old Winter puts his blank face to the glass,
I shall close all my shutters, pull the curtains tight,
And build me stately palaces by candlelight.”
— Charles Baudelaire

Haiku inspired by the above quote:
shuttered by warmth
imagination’s candle
lights a Winter moon
Your poem creates lovely imagery

I like your haiku much better than Baudelaire’s quote. For me, Winter’s face is not blank at all; it’s very expressive.

As I read this Haiku, I realize what I enjoy about winter . . . a quiet, moonlit landscape covered under its winter blanket.
