Fireflies – A Poem

The Spirit like fireflies dancing in lanterned hope:

Elliptical spotlights pirouetting away the dark.

The Comforter’s torchlight inextinguishable,

Unravelling the trials of life’s entwined rope,

Sequestering mortality’s

Loosely fitting cork.

  1. Growing up in Montana, we didn’t experience fireflies in evening’s darkness. It was amazing to witness their playful fun when I visited Wisconsin years later with my own daughters.
