Revelation II – A Poem

As the vision continued, there was,

Festooning Paradise’s Elysian walls,

A breastplate of the twelve jewels –

Earth’s sacred ephod in gemstones;

Pillars of an eternal foundation

Not fashioned by human hands.

Then, Paradise’s doors opened,

Draped in Shangri-La’s diamonds.

Into that vision of Tsyion (Zion),

Galloped the steeds of the four horsemen –

Their saddles in crimson, flutter

To the sound of hooves of thunder,

Like the voice of the Zambezi River,

Over Mosi-oa-Tunya –

“The Smoke that Thunders,”

Over, Victoria Falls.

  4. I love it! Once again you’ve captured the mood of the times very well and woven it into a poem. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse — let’s remember that word means Revelation, to reveal… well done.
