A Sugary Castle – A Poem

The evening is a sugary castle,

A confectioner’s mortar and pestle.

When eye candy images, window panes unwrap.

When upon syrupy rain Samhain dollups

Giant gobstoppers on ginger snaps.

Passing cars candy-apple red tops

Greet red, green and yellow lollipops

Traffic lights; where silent Cyclops,

Swing on pumpkin colored tri-colured dewdrops,

Teetering above candy cane corner barbershops.

While, on and out of puddles, angels with theirs guardians, hop

Onto the pumpkin path to the next bucket stop.

  1. Lol, this a candy wonderland,
I can just imagine the sugar rush, kids falling over their feet to get the next bucket at Honest Eds. Sugared fruit and vegetables, a real sugar lovers market.
