Stones to the Sea – A Poem

Image by kordula vahle from Pixabay

Encroaching waves decked in shovel shoes,

Build history kingdoms in wet sand dunes.

Waves as scoops sculpting stone cornices,

Renovate shoreline pillars raising Atlantis.

Collecting wood to frame concrete pylons,

Squalls, shape sand into walls of Babylon,

Brick laying civilization until Agamemnon.

Atop these kingdoms, the quest flag of peace

Ripples through history like stones to the sea.

      1. Oh wow. I just re-read your poem, got tingles. Very subtle, very deep. Let us pray the magic flame of love and bright will hold steady, and keep. A hope alights within your words, which makes me wish that the master builder has heard. Thanks for all your kindness to my work.
