First Spring “Pours” – A Poem

Expressly welcomed cupfuls from the wellsprings of life –

The first spring pours,

As dripping rain clouds filter their precious gift,

To fine ground pastures.

Blowing winds barista sound to the thirsty ear

And, cool the brewing heatwave drawing near.

Grass and trees seem greener,

In the percolator of the imagination

Favorite morning coffee seeming sweeter,

Accompanied by rain like nectar from heaven.

  1. Sometimes I think we’re attached at the brainwave level, Suzette. 😉😆👯‍♂️ I was having some very fond thoughts about coffee this morning. I am so happy I did not write my planned poem about them but instead got to read yours… which is far more lovely than the one I had in mind. just perfect. I love your wordplay.

“In the percolator of the imagination –” so good. 💖🙏🙏☕️
