Private Reflection – The enchantment of life

Life has incredible obstacles, some so difficult they threaten to scatter the beauty of your resolve, like lotus petals in the wind; yet, what ever your circumstance, there is much to enjoy in the enchantment of life.

Life’s imaginative fragrance (aka enchantment), can sometimes overpower us with its sweetness, lifting us to new heights of human capabilities. It can give us pause every now and then in the trials of the day – to hum a tune, you know– that song that somehow keeps playing over and over in your heart; or, to whistle a song that you once learned.

“Let us not remain anchored in the quicksand of a waning past, and lose the war on obliviousness, but let us listen to the bracing sounds of new horizons, grasp the enchantment of the fleeting instants and seize the cleverness of the moment.” ― Erik Pevernagie

“If there exist fortunate people, if from time to time the wild sun of joy soars towards foreign lands in a sweet whirling of ecstasy — then where are the words which might tell of this? And if in the world there exists a beauty for enchantment, then how might one describe it?”― Valery Bryusov

“Without a doubt the sense of beauty does not lie determined in the concreteness of an individual beautiful thing or person. Rather its purpose is much more the enchantment of the soul, for there is nothing physical that is not made with the intent of affecting the soul, and there is no soul that does not intend to dazzle everything physical with its sensations.”― Alexander Lernet-Holenia

“In order to be enchanted we must be, above all, capable of seeing another person—simply opening one’s eyes will not do.”― José Ortega y Gasset
