You have more options than you think

“There’s always another option.
There’s always another one.
It’s never only ‘this’ or ‘that,’
The moon or else the sun.

Don’t sigh and choose the greater
Or lesser of two plights.
But look to see the stars beyond
For options vast and bright.”

“We must dare to think ‘unthinkable’ thoughts. We must learn to explore all the options and possibilities that confront us in a complex and rapidly changing world.” ― William Fulbright

“You just can’t think of safe options always. You have to accept challenges head on.” ―  Vijay Shankar

“If you are faced with a mountain, you have several options.
You can climb it and cross to the other side.
You can go around it.
You can dig under it.
You can fly over it…
You can ignore it and pretend it’s not there.
You can turn around and go back the way you came.
Or you can stay on the mountain and make it your home.”

  1. Often times I feel I have options but no choice, if that makes any sense. Of course, we all have choices but sometimes I feel I don’t have any good choices to choose from. I have to choose from the lesser of two evils, if you will.

Sometimes all the positive self-talk doesn’t change the fact that some situations leave us feeling stuck. During these times, despite how much of a positive outlook we try to have, we just can’t help but feel between a rock and a hard place. When we feel like we are sinking in quicksand and feel desperate and out of options, the best thing to do is not panic (easier said than done, I know) and trust God. When we surrender our situation to God we focus on God’s power not our limitations. We can’t control situations but we can be empowered and encouraged through the Holy Spirit.
