Her orb of precious golden warmth and light makes a brief appearance
And then departs.
The Sun, she will appear again tomorrow
for another command performance.
But for today she hastens to the horizon to shed her light there.
I remember my grandma would say when the days grew shorter,
“Child, take night and make it day.”
Meaning, treat the sunlight hours, however few, with utmost respect.
Make peace with the dark.
Do what you need to do whether it is dark or light.
Shine your light in your heart, as you go about your daily tasks.
Above all, encourage yourself in the true light- God,
who keeps your lamp burning;
And who turns
your darkness into light -Psalms 18:28.
